There do seem to be quite a few people who don't care about accuracy and care more for being able to say they have a tulpa.
7:21 AM
Which is behavior I am rather inclined to discourage, hah.
Avatar
true, but they're the minority (edited)
Avatar
They are certainly a minority of the people who stay around.
Avatar
Shrugs. I notice the hosts who never have their tulpas speak and don't notice tulpas who speak regularly. That's because the former stands out to me as someone who's spent more time in other communities.

.info gets alot of newcomers
7:24 AM
moreso than other servers and commnities
7:24 AM
which makes sense, it's like the 3rd result or something on Google
7:24 AM
as a result, you're going to see more people who are initially satisfied with anything
Avatar
Only the 3rd? To my knowledge, it has actually been the 1st.
Avatar
oh, hmm, it used to be lower

I guess papa Google loves us more now
7:26 AM
good, it was awkward seeing the Wikipedia blurb
7:26 AM
anywho
7:26 AM
seeing newcomers more than older members is going to show you more people who just don't stick to this stuff
Avatar
I know.

or atleast

Google results are different per person, etc.

old people fade into the background
Avatar
and hosts who have been in the community for a very, very long time only have Antimatter Pepe and non-MLP unicorn tulpas that we can only theorize exist

can tulpa get perganat?

I'm sorry, I'll leave

Considering average length of tulpa pregnancy I could have already been a great great great ... great grandmother.

Am I a crusty oldfag

Depends
1:45 PM
How old is tupp and how long have you been in the tupp game?
1:52 PM
We've been in the game for 4 and a half years
1:53 PM
At least you aren't a newfag like us

I've been around tulpamancy since late 2012.

I have as well :) It is nice to meet the ones there when I was.

of course tulpas can get pregnant, switching is a thing after all
Avatar
They're not the same as the body it occurs in, so they can't.
Avatar
I don't think my host would be the same as the body either.
Avatar
Well, some fraction of tulpa could get pregnant in that case. I'm not sure switching would help with that in my case. (edited)
Avatar
I mean, a tulpa can make a tulpa. When a tulpa starts developing in my understanding is the moment they are conceived, so one could even call it conception. But I think this topic was originally based in a low quality joke.
5:12 PM
By conceived, I would mean when the idea of this person exists as a thing. Not meaning they are yet an independent entity, but the personality exists as a thought in a more meaningful way than a list of traits.
Avatar
It's more a fun thing to think about than it is actually something worth thinking about, on the topic of it being a joke. (edited)
5:17 PM
There are probably a total of ten people who have ever had this sort of thing happen to them.
Avatar
I think it might be a thing that occurs with the most suggestible types of person
Avatar
{tulpa pregnancy is degenerate symbolism}
6:12 PM
{simple as that}
Avatar

mine tupla is 9 months prgenat?
6:26 PM
Tulpas are pregnant for 2 weeks, not 9 months
6:26 PM
And they can also get pregnant after 2 weeks of existence

Fibonacci-esque reproduction away!

Avatar
Ruethus the Silver Sorceror 6/21/2018 6:28 PM
You won't catch me trying it, that's for sure
6:29 PM
But if you wanted to take the premise to its logical extreme, that's what it'd result in
Avatar
Tulpas can be "pregnant" at any point and for however long they'd like, as it is imaginary symbolism.
Avatar
Ruethus the Silver Sorceror 6/21/2018 6:32 PM
I mean, yeah
Avatar
This is a pretty ridiculous conversation.
Avatar
It is.
Avatar
Ruethus the Silver Sorceror 6/21/2018 6:35 PM
Hence why I've been taking it less than half seriously

fibonacci patters in nature are kinda nice
6:36 PM
they're so vivid

and intense
Avatar
If we stop taking it serious and drop it, maybe something productive will come out of it other than people actually defending such ridiculous shit.
Avatar
Meh. There are two major positions "let people do what they want!!!" And "if you do that you're degenerate" and neither of them have done anything but set the other off for the last four years, at the very least.
Avatar
Ruethus the Silver Sorceror 6/21/2018 7:08 PM
I'm of the former camp
Avatar
Deleted User 6/21/2018 7:13 PM
Well, I also want to let people do what they want. But sometimes they do ridiculous things.
Avatar
Y'all are still talking about it within the useless camps
Avatar
those 2 above statements aren't mutually exclusive btw
Avatar
Josh, you know as well as I do they're all degenerates. Don't pretend to be neutral.
Avatar
Ruethus the Silver Sorceror 6/21/2018 7:17 PM
"Degenerate" also implies judgment, which requires more energy than I care to invest in analyzing such things
Avatar
I would rather people think about what they are doing.
7:23 PM
They can do what they want, but they should recognize the downsides of what they are doing as much as they acknowledge the possible upsides.
Avatar
Ruethus the Silver Sorceror 6/21/2018 7:24 PM
That's entirely fair
Avatar
And, I certainly would rather people say what they actually want rather than equivocating two different ideas and confusing new people as a result.
7:25 PM
...partially because that changes what advice they should really receive.
Avatar
Ruethus the Silver Sorceror 6/21/2018 7:30 PM
Giving advice is most certainly easier when you can figure out what exactly you're giving it for
Avatar
North yeah obvi
7:36 PM
But if I could be tulpa pregnant with you, north-sama....

Avatar
Ruethus the Silver Sorceror 6/21/2018 7:42 PM
Oh gods no (edited)
Avatar
I don't entirely know what the upsides to excessive symbolism are, but maybe it's just a matter of preference.
Avatar
Ruethus the Silver Sorceror 6/21/2018 7:59 PM
That's what I chalk it up to
Avatar
Hey, I have a rather generic questions for those who have tulpas that regularly (or irregularly) possess, switch, or otherwise make use of the body.
10:34 PM
Are there habitual differences, tics (either the same as host tics or adapted from host tics), or other types of changes while the tulpa is in control? Are there certain things that the tulpa does that would normally make the host uncomfortable, but when performed they are severely reduced in discomfort or completely different in feel?
Avatar
[can you phrase that in a way that is easier to understand]
